Abstract: The early history of the research group on general relativity at Beijing Normal University is briefly reviewed． Two areas of works are outlined in particular: a method is found to calculate the surface temperature of non-stationary black holes point-by-point; the zeroth law of thermodynamics is found to be equivalent to transitive property of clock rate synchronization．
