Abstract:
Based on the over-years practice in training the under- and post-graduates majoring in natural resources, this paper has summarized the achievements of a curriculum catena construction, and elaborated the functional characteristics of the curriculum catena in the training mode of combined bachelor’s/master’s degree program, which is conducive to students to establish a generous theoretical foundation and to integrate into scientific research activities in their early stage. Meanwhile, according to the recent requirements of the MOE for the implementation of the advanced graduate level teacher training program, i.e. the master of education, we have explored a new mode for the training of full-time higher pedagogical education students in the combined bachelor’s/master’s degree program for their graduate studies. For this mode, taking the training program in geographical science as a case study, we have put forward the idea of constructing a curriculum chain that fully covers the subject knowledge system, and that takes into account the present educational standards in middle school curriculum. We also suggest that there is a need to pay more attention to the training of scientific literacy and strengthen the corresponding curriculum allocation in the whole program framework.
